Last stop

Deb Hankey, left, and Linda Sanders, will retire from the United States Postal Service after more than 30 years of service each. Sanders’ last day is July 26 and Hankey’s is July 28.

The United States Postal Service has changed in many ways since Deb Hankey and Linda Sanders became mail clerks in the mid-1980s.

At one time, the job mostly required moving letters, magazines and newspapers where they needed to go. These days, parcels make up most of the work, Hankey said.
