Before joining the Pride March for Love, Carlos Irizarry paused to admire all the young faces in the sea of LGBTQ+ community members and allies walking around Gettysburg’ Lincoln Square.

Irizarry, a 48-year-old Puerto Rican-American living in Waynesboro, had participated in many Pride parades in larger metropolitan areas. Gettysburg was where he’d trained for his job and shopped for antiques with his husband.
