A century-old fire engine was the prominent exhibit Sunday as the Fairfield Fire Department held an open house honoring its 100th anniversary.

The pristine 1926 antique Chevrolet fire engine lovingly restored by Larry Spangler of Hanover seemed primitive by comparison to today’s state-of-the-art firefighting equipment also on display.
