FILE — Carroll Valley Borough Council cut one full-time police officer position in its 2021 budget.

As with other Adams County municipalities, the Borough of Carroll Valley is dealing with a shorthanded police department. The Carroll Valley Police Department (CVPD) is operating at 50 percent manpower compared to what the 2020 budget called for.

Currently, the CVPD only has two full-time officers, Police Chief Richard Hileman II and Corporal Clifford Weikert. Patrol Officer Eric Peiffer resigned last week to take a higher paying position with the North Lebanon Township Police Department.
