By unanimous vote at a special meeting Monday, the Fairfield Area School Board hired Michael Adamek of Chambersburg as superintendent. Adamek, who currently serves as assistant superintendent of the Susquehanna Township School District in Harrisburg, will begin his new duties at Fairfield on Oct. 22.

“We were really searching for a strong leader and we like his leadership and coaching style. We’re excited about his background and experience in rural and urban, large and small school districts. He’s excited about our rural setting and is a good fit,” board President Ian Strahler said.
