On Monday, April 13, at approximately 1 p.m., the Pennsylvania Legislature will vote on a resolution to designate 2015 The Year of the Pennsylvania Barn. The Historical Preservation Society of Gettysburg - Adams County (HGAC) proposed this resolution that was introduced by Rep. Dan Moul. Everyone is invited to come to a press conference following the vote, at the steps of the Pennsylvania Capitol Main Rotunda to show your support and interest in historic barn preservation.

The press conference will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will include brief remarks by Representative Dan Moul, Senator Rich Alloway, and the Acting Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Russell Redding. Also speaking will be Professor Robert F. Ensminger, author of "The Pennsylvania Barn: Its Origin, Evolution and Distribution in North America" and Jeff Marshall, President of the Historic Barn & Farm Foundation of Pennsylvania.
