After a hearing before an impartial arbitrator, more than three years in court, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in attorney fees, Gettysburg Police Officer Michael Carricato and the borough are still miles apart in resolving their labor and financial differences.

With no conclusion or settlement in sight, one or two current police officers may be laid off to cover the cost of a settlement with Carricato that would likely include Carricato’s resignation from the police department.
