Whether compensating farmers for milk that needed to be dumped or reinforcing food banks, federal support was “critical to build a bridge from 2020 to 2021,” said Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding.

The Coronavirus Food Assistance Fund provided $200 million in direct payments which kept Pennsylvania farms in business, Redding said during a virtual town hall Wednesday, part of the online Pennsylvania Farm Show.
