U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey made clear his position on Confederate leaders while standing firm against the removal of monuments from national parks Thursday.

Section 442 of a recent appropriations bill, H.R. 7608, approved by the House calls for the removal of Confederate “commemorative works” within 180 days of its enactment, including statues, monuments, sculptures, memorials, and plaques.
