Notwithstanding limited access due to the COVID-19 closure and a mask mandate in effect at the Adams County Courthouse, the Adams County Veterans Affairs Department was able to set a record amount of first-time claim benefits for county veterans during the recently-completed fiscal year.

According to Pennsylvania Department of Veterans Affairs records, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, a total of $2,831,132.87 in new claim dollars were awarded to military veterans who reside in Adams County. This figure represents a 1.6 percent increase over the previous fiscal year’s benefit number of $2,785,669.77.
