Truck crash snarls traffic

A utility pole leans over Carlisle Pike (Pa. Route 94) after two tractor-trailers collided Monday shortly after 1 p.m., wreaking havoc with traffic for hours. No injuries were reported, but one driver was charged with failing to obey a stop sign for westbound traffic on Lake Meade Road, according to Reading Township Officer in Charge William Ceravola. Both drivers were from Maryland, and one truck was hauling potato chips, Ceravola said. The scene was about three miles southeast of York Springs. As of 4:45 p.m., Met-Ed’s website was reporting 64 customers without power in Reading Township.
