Jackson Township tower

Preparations are underway, including the pouring of a concrete pad, to place a tower in Jackson Township so the Rural Broadband Cooperative can extend broadband internet service in the northern part of Huntingdon County.

The team behind the Rural Broadband Cooperative (RBC) has definitely put the $513,607.08 they were awarded from the Huntingdon County Commissioners in late September to good use to expand broadband internet coverage in parts of Huntingdon County.

Those efforts have led to the construction of a large tower in Jackson Township which will serve residents in the McAlevys Fort area, as well as small repeater towers at the Stone Creek Valley Volunteer Fire Co., on Piney Ridge and in Shirleysburg.
