Downtown Christmas decor

A snow-covered Christmas wreath decoration hangs high above Independence Street in downtown Shamokin.

For those who haven’t heard, Shamokin is making a comeback.

Revitalization efforts in the city are rapidly moving forward with the establishment of new businesses, real estate investment, plans for current and future redevelopment, including two new hotels and a downtown healthcare facility. Key economic drivers in Shamokin’s renaissance include outdoor recreation, tourism, healthcare and the arts.
