Michael J. Dillman, 50, of Littlestown, died Monday p.m., Aug. 22, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Kimberly D. (Herring) Dillman for 27 years. Born Dec. 17, 1960 in Gettysburg, he was the son of Robert L. and Sandra J. (Little) Dilllman of Littlestown. He was a 1979 Littlestown High School graduate. He had been employed with the Borough of Littlestown until 1987, then GS & G Builders and Glen Simpson Builders, both of Gettysburg, and is currently employed with PennDOT.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mike is survived by two daughters, Amanda L. Lehr and husband Jonathan, of New Oxford and Alicia R. Dillman of Littlestown; two brothers, Barry C. Dillman of Littlestown and Jeffrey N. Dillman of Danville, Va.; a sister, Debra J. Young of Lititz; father-in-law, Rodney L. Herring of Littlestown; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Eileen Herring.
Mike was a member of Redeemer's United Church of Christ, Alpha Fire Company, F.O.E., a social member of the V.F.W., all of Littlestown. He served as PIAA umpire for the high school, Legion and youth leagues and had served on church consistory. Mike was a loving and caring husband, father, son, brother and friend. He played football and baseball in high school; loved spending time with family and going to Myrtle Beach, hunting with his father-in-law Rodney, and loved his work. He also loved his dog, Abby, and "grand" puppy, Oakley.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 26, at Christ United Church of Christ, 131 Christ Church Road, Littlestown, with the Rev. Ted Bowers officiating. Viewing will be Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Christ Church. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown.
